Title Source Gets Involved at the MLTA Convention
This July, Title Source leaders Angela Crusoe, Timothy Donovan, Sherry Dukic, Erin Faulkner, Brad Miller, Brian Stein, Jenn Sting and Aaron Weller attended the Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA) Convention at the Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, Michigan. At the convention, attendees were able to collaborate with the state’s underwriting counsel and learn about best practices and industry news. As a sponsor of the three-day event, Title Source sponsored the welcome dinner and welcome reception.
“I think it’s imperative that Title Source has involvement in associations like the MLTA,” Title Source Vice President of Title Production Brad Miller said. “It’s good for us to network with others in the industry and to share best practices with others in the state.”
Attendees of the convention heard from top influencers from the industry and Washington. Congressman David Trott covered news of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and American Land Title Association (ALTA) President Daniel Mennenoh talked about tax reform changes and online notaries. They also listened to discussions on economic views and news from Fannie Mae Senior Vice President Doug Duncan.
“I like that we have such a tightknit title industry in Michigan,” said Miller. “There’s always a lot of good collaboration and conversation at the convention, even though they may be competitors. It helps everyone keep up on best practices and make sense of the industry.”
Title Source will continue to become more involved with the MLTA as it has multiple representatives taking part in committees for next year. MLTA’s 2018 conference will take place July 15 to 17 at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island.
