The Five Foot Donation

Posted by Paula Guzik

There’s nothing like an oversized five-foot long check
donation from Title Source worth $25,000 to roll out the new year. What’s
better yet, it was presented on the ice at the Joe Louis Arena, the home of the
Detroit Red Wings right before their showdown with the Chicago Blackhawks.
Title Source’s Chief Operating Officer Brian Hughes was proud to present this $25,000
check donation on behalf of Title Source, the first official sponsor to the
Detroit Red Wings Foundation’s newest program, Fund the Mission.

Fund the
Mission, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, pairs companies who invest in the future of our community by providing
funds and resources to worthy causes that contribute to the growth of the sport
of hockey with a focus on healthy eating and regular exercise.

“What an
exciting way to present our donation to the foundation. We are thrilled to
be partnered with Fund the Mission and support their efforts to bring healthy
living to the youth of our community through regular activity and good eating
choices,” said Hughes who has a personal passion for the sport of hockey.

The healthy
eating choices and regular exercise initiatives of Fund the Mission are similar
to wellness programs offered to Title Source team members. This health
initiative is called the Total You Wellness Program, which is meant to motivate
team member to stay on top of their health game, and help them discover new
ways to nourish their body and mind.

Through the
Detroit Red Wings Foundation, players and staff participate in several
fundraising events throughout the season including the annual Toast of
Hockeytown Wine Tasting Gala, MotorCity Casino Hotel’s Red Wings Charity Poker
Tournament and the Red Wings Foundation 50/50 Raffle Program. Through these
initiatives, the Foundation raises over one-half million dollars annually for
various organizations in our Detroit community.
