Nadolski Named to Outdoor Recreation Advisory Board

Steve Nadolski, Vice President of Amrock Commercial, has been appointed to Michigan’s new Outdoor Recreation Advisory Council (ORAC). The council was formed to look for ways to improve partnerships and develop strategies to increase the state’s outdoor recreation economy. It is comprised of Michigan business leaders from various industries including manufacturing, retail and service, health and community finance sectors.

ORAC’s first meeting was held in Downtown Detroit, and members visited many of the restored areas and future developments near Amrock’s headquarters. Along with retail facilities, they explored the city’s parks, transportation options and its emerging arts and creative scene.

“I was pleased to be appointed to the ORAC, and proud that our Family of Companies sponsored its inaugural meeting,” Steve said. “We talked about how improving public spaces positively impacts residency in Detroit and greatly contributes to the city’s resurgence. But then we illustrated that fact by taking the council on a tour which showcased our public spaces, parks and riverfront.”

ORAC is modeled on similar efforts in eight other states; however, the Michigan council will be the first in the Midwest. Recent studies found that Michigan residents spent 2.6 billion days a year engaged in outdoor recreational activities, generating $26.6 billion in consumer spending each year and supporting 232,000 jobs.
